Perpetual Inventory System

A method of tracking inventory that updates stock levels continuously after every transaction.

In a perpetual inventory system, stock quantities are updated in real time whenever medicines are received, dispensed, transferred, or adjusted. This gives pharmacy managers an accurate picture of current stock at any moment without needing to do a physical count. Musawo uses a perpetual inventory system — every receipt, dispense, and adjustment automatically updates the stock level for that product at that location.
