Lot Number
A unique identifier assigned to a batch of medicines produced at the same time under the same conditions.
A lot number (also called a batch number) identifies a specific production run of a medicine. It is used to track medicines from manufacturer to patient, enabling recalls if a problem is found with a specific batch. In pharmacy inventory management, recording lot numbers on every receipt allows full traceability. Musawo supports lot number tracking on all stock receipts.
